Job summary

Altius Talent is partnering with a global freight forwarding company to recruit an experienced Customs Brokerage Manager for their Atlanta office.

This leadership role oversees day-to-day customs operations, ensures CBP compliance, and guides a four-person team, including a supervisor and three entry writers, across Air, Ocean and Domestic shipments. The role requires a strong grasp of U.S. regulations and a commitment to process improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Customs Brokerage.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing a Customs Brokerage team.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and compliance.
• CargoWise One experience is essential.
• Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily Customs Brokerage operation within the Atlanta branch.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team consisting of 1 Customs Brokerage Supervisor and 3 Customs Entry Writers.
• Ensure all customs entries are processed accurately, efficiently and in compliance with CBP regulations.
• Oversee customs clearance activities across Air, Ocean and Domestic freight shipments.
• Monitor team productivity, performance and service levels.
• Provide technical guidance on customs regulations, tariff classifications and compliance matters.
• Work closely with Operations, Sales and customers to ensure a seamless customs clearance process.
• Handle escalated customs issues and resolve any clearance delays.
• Maintain compliance with all CBP regulations and internal company procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and overall department performance.
• Support training and onboarding of new team members.
