Job summary

Rhenus Group in Georgia is seeking a Customs Entry Specialist to prepare and process customs entries in line with CBP regulations and internal procedures. You will review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and arrival notices to ensure accuracy and completeness, acting as a key liaison with customers and partners.

This role requires independent problem solving for classification, valuation, and origin, coordinating with brokers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customs entries in accordance with U.S. CBP regulations and internal compliance procedures.
• Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, arrival notices, and other import documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Verify importer of record, country of origin, valuation, terms of sale, tariff classification, and other entry data prior to submission.
• Research HTS classifications and identify applicable duties, taxes, fees, and trade requirements.
• Independently handle complex entries and resolve classification, valuation, documentation, or admissibility issues.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, freight forwarders, brokers, overseas offices, and internal teams to obtain missing information and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor entry status and shipment releases, prevent delays and avoidable costs.
• Support PGA requirements and other import regulations where applicable.
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready entry records and documentation.
• Escalate unresolved compliance concerns or operational risks to management.
• Provide timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders on entry status and issues.
• Collaborate with Brokerage and Operations to maintain high service levels and accuracy.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job description

• Prepare and process customs entries in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and internal compliance procedures.
• Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, arrival notices, and other import documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Verify importer of record (IOR), country of origin, valuation, terms of sale, tariff classification, and other entry data prior to submission.
• Research and apply Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and identify applicable duties, taxes, fees, and trade requirements.
• Independently handle more complex customs entries and use sound judgment to identify and resolve classification, valuation, documentation, or admissibility issues.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, freight forwarding teams, customs brokers, overseas offices, and internal operations to obtain missing information and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor entry status and shipment releases, identify problem files, and take timely corrective action to prevent delays, storage, or other avoidable costs.
• Support compliance with applicable Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements and other import regulations, where applicable.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready entry records and supporting documentation.
• Escalate unresolved compliance concerns, documentation discrepancies, or operational risks to management as appropriate.
• Provide professional and timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders regarding entry status and customs-related issues.
• Work closely with Brokerage and Operations teams to maintain a high level of customer service and operational accuracy.
