Job summary

Expeditors is seeking a detail‑oriented Customs Clerk to ensure proper and timely movement and clearance of freight within the Customs Brokerage department, delivering exceptional customer service. You will handle data entry, verify documentation, liaise with customs authorities, and support compliance with OPS and regulatory requirements for import and export shipments.

A 6 months to 1 year related experience is typical; benefits are included.

Qualifications

• 1/2 to 1 year related experience and/or training.
• Good knowledge of customs brokerage processes and systems.
• Understanding of ocean and air documentation process and incoterms.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills with strong organizational ability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow.
• Ensure accurate and timely client billing and data entry into our operating system.
• Transpose and verify customs declaration information for entries and submissions.
• Interact with customs authorities to address issues and coordinate inspections during clearance.
• Maintain compliant documentation and communicate with customers to meet service standards.
