Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an experienced Customs Brokerage Agent for a contract-to-hire role based in Memphis, TN. You will prepare customs entries and review documents to ensure compliance, while coordinating with customers and carriers to track shipments and resolve issues.

The position requires 5+ years in U.S. customs regulations, strong CargoWise One skills, and attention to detail. Onsite work in Memphis with a competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.
• Customs Broker License is a plus but not required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience with strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and HTS.
• Proficiency in CargoWise One.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customs entries for shipments to U.S. Customs in a timely manner.
• Review import documentation for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
• Identify products subject to OGA's and derive tariff data.
• Interface with customers on CBP, OGA delivery and irregularities.
• Manage daily tracking reports for open shipments and coordinate with lines and forwarders.
• Issue delivery orders and arrange trucking for pick-up/delivery.
• Handle accounting processes including invoices and freight bill approval.

Description

• Prepare customs entries for all shipments to be submitted to U.S. Customs in a timely manner.
• Review import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other supporting documents, for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Identify products subject to OGA's.
• Derives Harmonized schedule tariff and enter OGA/PGA data.
• Interface with customers on CBP, OGA delivery and irregularities.
• Manage daily tracking report for open shipments.
• Track and trace shipments and coordinate with the steamship lines, freight forwarders and CFS on the availability of imported shipments.
• Issue delivery orders, arrange with trucking companies for pick-up and delivery.
• Handle accounting processes including the issuance of invoices and freight bill approval.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $33.65/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
