Job summary

Insight Global in Georgia is seeking a Customs Clerk to support import/export activities, ensuring timely processing, accurate data entry and traceability of customs files to meet client instructions and deadlines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in supply chain or business, knowledge of customs regulations, and familiarity with ocean, road and air documentation. Strong interpersonal and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork.
• Knowledge of customs brokerage processes and regulations.
• Understanding of classification, valuation and origin in customs law.
• Familiarity with import documentation across ocean/air/road modes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow.
• Accurate/data entry into operational systems.
• Track and trace customs files and reporting.
• Assist with client billing accuracy and timeliness.
• Interpret Desk Level Operating Procedures for import/export.
• Transfer declaration information into the customs entry system.
• Verify and submit declarations to customs authorities.
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulations.

• Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system
• Track and Trace Custom files and reporting
• Ensure accurate and timely client billing
• Understand all the elements of the import and export customs Desk Level Operating Procedure and correctly interpret this information to fulfill our customer?s instructions and expectations.
• Transfer customs declaration information from documents, or other sources into the customs entry system to allow for the build of a valid customs declaration
• Assist with verification of customs declaration information and the submission of such to the customs authority
• Ensure compliance at all times to regulations

Skills and Requirements

• Effective interpersonal skills
• Good computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word)
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or Business Management
• Experience and knowledge of customs brokerage processes, customs legislation - especially with regards to classification, valuation, and origin
• Understanding of ocean, road, and air documentation process and import knowledge
