Job summary

A.N. Deringer, Inc. is seeking a Bond Specialist to manage customs bonds, Powers of Attorney, and related compliance documentation in the Trade Compliance Services group.

You will coordinate with customers, sureties, and internal teams to ensure timely filings and accurate records while supporting import operations and regulatory requirements. Ideal candidates will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and hands-on experience with CBP regulations and bond management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or Customs Compliance preferred.
• Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to process bond, billing, and compliance documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process customs bond applications, renewals, billings, and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor bond sufficiency reports, evaluate customer import activity, and recommend bond adjustments to maintain compliance.
• Communicate with customers regarding bond requirements, renewals, insufficiencies, and related compliance matters.
• Review, maintain, and administer Powers of Attorney (POAs) in accordance with CBP regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate bond files, records, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for surety providers and assist in resolving bond-related issues and inquiries.
• Process Canadian Customs Bonds and related documentation in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to Operations teams, ports, and other internal stakeholders on bond and POA matters.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, sureties, and internal business partners through responsive and professional service.
• Stay current on customs bond requirements, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
• Support departmental initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and other duties as assigned.
