Job summary

A.N. Deringer, Inc. is seeking a Bond Department Supervisor to lead a team of Bond Specialists and oversee daily operations across bonds, POAs, and importer verification.

You will ensure accurate, compliant processing and serve as a trusted resource for escalated client matters. You will model core values and drive continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service while coordinating with surety providers and external partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in customs brokerage, trade compliance, bond administration, or related regulatory environment.
• Minimum of 2 years leading or managing colleagues in a compliance-focused operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, powers of attorney, importer identity verification, and recordkeeping obligations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Bond Specialists with direction, mentorship, training, and feedback.
• Establish performance expectations; monitor results; hold team accountable for objectives.
• Manage workloads to ensure timely, accurate processing of bonds, POAs, and documentation.
• Maintain understanding of customs regulations, bond requirements, and importer verification standards.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls for compliant operations.
• Review POA intake, powers of attorney, and supporting docs; coordinate second-level reviews.
• Review enhanced due diligence for nonresident importers; verify signer authority.”
• Oversee identity verification, screening, and CBP compliance; conduct audits and quality reviews.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and service metrics; drive improvements.
• Serve as escalation point for clients; ensure satisfaction and responsiveness.
• Manage relationships with surety providers and external partners; liaison for bond matters.
