Job summary

Altec in Birmingham, AL seeks a logistics/quoting specialist to manage pricing, quotes, ordering, shipping contracts, and customer communications. The role serves as a liaison between our direct sales force, customers, and vendors to ensure a smooth experience from concept to delivery.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree and strong math, computing, and communication skills, with the ability to analyze problems and independently manage time and tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in math and with computers, specifically Microsoft software; excellent written and verbal communication
• Must be able to analyze problems and develop solutions

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of products, customers, and processes
• Provide quotes/pricing; enter, track and revise orders; contract shipping; provide delivery information; establish credit terms; handle warranty issues
• Communicate customer needs to vendors; resolve build issues
• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable on invoices and credit terms; assist with collections
• Cost and quote products per Global Rental standards and formats
• Build product knowledge to understand component function
• Capture and communicate customer requirements
• Process orders per Global Rental procedures accurately and on time
• Project revenue and profitability for each order; update labor, materials and margins
• Deal with delivery schedules, revisions, invoicing, and warranty issues
• Monitor orders, delivery, and cost controls to meet objectives
• Review job costs and identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase margins
• Interact with customers and vendors professionally; occasionally host customer visits
• Progress in training and attend sessions to enhance skills
• All other duties as assigned
