Job summary

Brenntag is seeking a Customer Service Representative to deliver a positive customer experience through timely communication and accurate order processing. The role manages the full order lifecycle, from processing to changes, while collaborating closely with sales and internal teams.

Key responsibilities include verifying shipping, pricing, and PO details, maintaining customer files, and addressing inquiries and complaints. Overtime and on-call work may be required in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Customer Service or similar discipline.
• Chemical Distribution or Manufacturing is a plus.
• Must be able to problem solve, work independently, and demonstrate strong listening, speaking and decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for collaboration.
• Skilled at working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment to prioritize heavy workload and multitasking.
• Dedication to teamwork, customer satisfaction, and results.
• Excellent written/oral communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime, have on-call hours, or work after hours.
• Keeping calm when on customer calls.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP/CRM systems, and team collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Efficient and accurate order placement, confirmation via phone, email, or EDI, and timely communication regarding changes.
• Verify shipping, billing, pricing, and purchase order information.
• Enter special instructions, code maintenance, and notes for orders.
• Update customer files with pricing, new items, addresses, and delivery instructions.
• Provide support to sales staff and communicate with customers and sales teams.
• Regularly communicate with internal and external customers on various issues.
• Collaborate with team on data entry and order intake; assist other CSRs as needed.
• Audit POs for pricing, quantity, terms, ETA, carrier, and special instructions.
• Document and resolve customer complaints.
• Process returns in a timely manner per procedures.
• Ensure compliance, safety, quality, and regulatory expectations across daily functions.
