Job summary

D. R. Horton is seeking a Customer Service Technician in Biloxi, MS to evaluate warranty repairs, process work orders, and perform carpentry and related repairs. You will coordinate with subcontractors and ensure timely, compliant completion of work for homeowners.

The role requires driving between communities, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office and warranty apps. A valid license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three or more years related experience in carpentry, drywall, texture repair and painting.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel among communities.
• Effective communication under pressure and independent work.
• Proficient with MS Office and email.
• Proficient with DRH Warranty applications on mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate homeowner repair issues to determine warranty eligibility.
• Process work orders and verbal instructions for repairs.
• Perform carpentry, drywall, texture repair and painting repairs.
• Schedule and manage subcontractors for warranty work.
• Ensure repairs meet compliance standards and complete on time.
• Certify warranty work is completed per contractor obligations.
• Maintain rapport with homeowners and subcontractors.
• Follow up with homeowners to address concerns promptly.
• Process charge-back documentation and invoices.
• Conduct business professionally to serve customers and company goodwill.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluates homeowner repair issues to determine if they are warrantable items
• Processes written or electronic work orders and/or verbal instructions from supervisor for homeowner repairs
• Performs necessary repairs to homes such as carpentry work, drywall, texture repair and painting
• Schedules and manages subcontractors to make designated warranty repairs
• Ensures all repairs are completed within compliance standards
• Certifies warranty work is completed within contractor obligations
• Develops and maintains good rapport with subcontractors and homeowners
• Follows up with homeowners to ensure concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner
• Processes charge‑back documentation and invoices
• Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase goodwill and profit of the company
• Ability to work overtime
• Ability to travel overnight

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Three or more years related experience, including carpentry work, drywall, texture repair and painting
• Must have a vehicle capable of carrying supplies, valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among designated communities in daytime and nighttime
• Excels in effective and positive communications
• Works effectively in high‑pressure situations
• Works independently and is productive without supervision
• Provides a systematic approach in carrying out assignments
• Utilizes DRH Warranty applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptop
• Proficient with MS Office and email
• Can lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
