What You Will Do And How You Will Contribute
- Engage with customers, greet, and assist them to create a positive shopping experience.
- Help customers find the right products, provide recommendations, and offer solutions for their projects.
- Stock and organize merchandise to maintain a clean, well-presented store.
- Answer phone calls in a polite and timely manner, addressing customer inquiries.
- Assist with inventory-related tasks, including performing cycle counts, verifying stock levels, and maintaining accurate records.
- Upsell related items and promote the Do It Best reward program to build loyalty.
- Follow company standards and procedures to ensure smooth store operations.
- Process checkouts accurately, adhering to proper cash handling procedures.
- Continuously expand knowledge of products across all departments to enhance service and identify selling opportunities.
- Address and resolve customer issues with management support.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Complete all assigned training to stay up-to-date with product knowledge and company policies.
- Assist in other departments/functions as needed to provide great customer service.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
What You Will Bring To Our Team
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Previous retail or related industry experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with cycle counting or inventory processes is beneficial.
- Strong customer service skills and a willingness to go the extra mile to meet customer needs.
- Ability to be a team player, help out wherever needed, and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate customer needs and provide effective solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, staying flexible and adaptable.
- Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing 25-50 lbs, bend, twist, squat, and reach throughout your shift.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as required by the business.
