Expeditors International is seeking a Customer Service Representative for its Brokerage department in Torrance, CA. The role requires 3–5 years of brokerage experience and involves ensuring timely, accurate operations and exceptional customer service.

You will handle data entry, communicate with customers and government agencies, and maintain regulatory compliance, with a 7:30 AM–4:30 PM schedule and hourly pay. Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Brokerage experience required.
• Understanding of transportation and US Customs documentation.
• Must pass a background check.
• Legal work authorization in the United States.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work overtime in support of department needs.
• Commute to Torrance, CA.

Responsabilités

• Ensure timely and accurate operations while providing exceptional customer service within the Brokerage Department.

• Daily execution of workflow and department metrics.
• Transfer declaration information from commercial documents into our customs entry system.
• Accurate and timely data entry for a complete US Customs declaration.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and government organizations.
• Ensure compliance to regulations at all times.
• Track and Trace shipments for data transmission to US customs and PGAs.
• Identify and manage exceptions and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Effectively manage and organize emails for timely follow up.

Position Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30AM – 4:30 PM

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• A Brokerage CSR will be expected to ensure timely and accurate operations while providing exceptional customer service within theBrokerage Department.
• 3 to 5 years of Brokerage experience required
• Ensure a smooth and timely customs process flow for all customs related activities
• Dailyexecution of workflow and department metrics
• Transfer declaration information from commercial documents, or other sources into our customs entry system
• Accurate and timely data entry to allow for the build of a complete US Customs declaration
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the customers and government organizations
• Ensure compliance to regulations at all times, both internal and external
• Track and Trace shipments for valid data transmission to US customs and Partner Government Agencies
• Understand customer expectation to ensure all the elements of the SOP and KPI’s are met
• Identify and manage exceptions while also identifying opportunities for continuous improvementEffectively manage and organize emails for timely follow up

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of Brokerage experience required
• Understanding of transportation and US Customs documentation
• High School Degree or equivalent required
• Successful candidates must pass a background check
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must not require future sponsorship for employment visa
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department’s needs
• Must be able to commute to the city of Torrance, CA
• Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skills
• Comfortable working in an office environment

Desired Qualifications

• Customer Service: 6 months to 1 year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required. We hire for attitude and train for skill.
• Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results

The wage forthis position is $20.00-$30.00 per hour.
