Job summary

Pico Propane and Fuels in Roswell, NM is seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to support customers and operations. You will handle inquiries, process orders, maintain records, and assist with propane dispensing at the bottle dock while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of customer service, strong communication skills, and the ability to learn new software and LP-9 dispensing certification requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in customer service preferred.
• LP-9 Station Dispensing Certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers by phone, email, or in person to provide support and information.
• Take and enter orders for products or services; maintain accurate records.
• Field customer questions and complaints; escalate as needed to appropriate staff.
• Maintain customer accounts and records of interactions and inquiries.
• Provide customer service and propane dispensing support at the bottle dock station.
• Support dispatch coordination and scheduling of drivers and technicians.
• Perform administrative tasks to support operational efficiency.

The Customer Service Representative will support both customers and operations by proactively addressing inquiries, coordinating service needs, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure day-to-day processes run efficiently. This role also provides direct customer service and propane dispensing support at the bottle dock station. A successful Customer Service Representative is committed to service, efficiency, and safety.Duties/Responsibilities:Interact with customers by phone, email, or in person to provide support and product/service information, serving as a liaison between customers and the companyCollect and enter orders for new or additional products or servicesField customer questions and complaints; escalate issues beyond the representative’s knowledge to the appropriate specialist or staff memberEnsure that appropriate actions are taken to resolve customer problems and concernsMaintain customer accounts and records of customer interactions, including inquiries, complaints, and commentsProvide customer service and propane dispensing support at the bottle dock station in accordance with safety procedures and applicable regulationsSupport daily operations through dispatch coordination and scheduling of drivers and technicians, while maintaining accurate records, reporting, and internal systemsAssist with administrative and compliance-related tasks to support operational efficiency and business needsPerform other related duties as assignedThe absence of specific statements of duties does not exclude those tasks from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment of the position.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 2 years of customer service experienceExperience in high-volume phone call settings highly preferredExperience in the propane industry preferredSkills/Abilities:Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environmentService-oriented, with the ability to resolve customer grievances effectivelyMust have or be able to obtain the LP-9 Station Dispensing CertificationProficient with computers and able to learn software as neededProficient in the current Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn additional software toolsPhysical Requirements:The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, using a phone, and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed to safely assist with duties around the plant and at the bottle dock stationMust pass a pre-employment screening and background checkThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work that is expected to be performed.
