Job summary

Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply in the Scranton area is seeking a Customer Service Specialist who will be the friendly face for our route truck team. You’ll set up new accounts, answer questions, resolve issues, and ensure orders are accurate and on time.

No call center experience? If you’ve worked in retail or food service, you know how to move a line, be courteous, and follow through. We’ll train you on TRACS and our processes, with opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• At least one year of customer service experience in a public-facing role.
• Comfort on a computer; experience with POS or ordering systems and MS Office is a plus.
• Professional phone and email communication.
• High school diploma or GED; college is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain customer accounts in TRACS.
• Be the first friendly voice by phone, email, and online.
• Solve problems and follow through to resolution.
• Process invoices and handle account reconciliations.
• Support Route Service team as office backup.

Be the Voice Behind Every Dempsey Route Truck

Our customers rely on us to pick up the phone, get things right, and make their day easier. As a Customer Service Specialist, you’re the friendly face and voice behind every Dempsey route truck. You’ll set up new accounts, answer questions, resolve issues, and keep things running smoothly for the customers who depend on us and the route team on the road.

No call center experience? No problem. If you’ve ever run a shift at a coffee shop, worked a pizza counter or beauty counter, or managed a store floor, you already know how to keep a line moving, get an order right, and treat people well. We’ll teach you the rest.

What You'll Do

• Set up and maintain customer accounts. New customers, changes, and updates all go through you, so accuracy matters. You will work in TRACS, our order and billing system, and we will train you on it.
• Be the first friendly voice customers hear. Answer questions and requests by phone, email, and online. Be quick, be kind, and follow through until the customer is taken care of.
• Solve problems. A missing item, a billing question, or a change to a delivery? You listen, find the answer, and keep your promise to circle back.
• Process invoices and handle account reconciliations, so our customers’ bills are right the first time.
• Support our Route Service team. Our route reps are out on the road all day. You are their backup at the office when they need an answer or a hand.
• Keep learning. Know our uniforms, linens, mats, and services well enough to point customers in the right direction.
• Work as part of the team. Cover for a teammate, share what you learn, and pitch in wherever you are needed.

Qualifications

• At least one year of customer service experience, in a store, restaurant, office, or anywhere you worked directly with the public. Shift lead or supervisor experience is a plus.
• Comfort on a computer. You can type, enter data accurately, and pick up new systems quickly. Experience with a point-of-sale or ordering system, or Microsoft Office, is great.
• A warm, professional phone and email manner.
• An eye for detail. The little things matter to our customers.
• A high school diploma or GED. Some college or an Associate’s degree is a plus.
• Spanish speaking and writing skills are a plus, but not required.
• Basic bookkeeping or accounting clerical experience is a plus, but not required.
• Age 18 or older, and successful completion of pre-employment checks.
