Minuteman Press Downtown Houston is hiring for a hybrid customer service role supporting walk-in and remote clients while partnering with the design team to prep print-ready artwork, quotes, and orders.

You will be the main contact for print, marketing, and promo needs, greet walk-ins, handle calls and emails, and prepare accurate quotes and work orders. Experience in a print shop or marketing environment is preferred.

• Experience with print production processes and paper stocks.

Job description

Hybrid customer service role supporting walk-in and remote clients while partnering with the design team to prepare print-ready artwork, quotes, and orders.

• Serve as the primary client point of contact for print, marketing, and promotional product needs
• Greet and assist walk-in customers at the location
• Answer phones and emails and respond professionally
• Consult on project requirements and help identify suitable solutions
• Prepare accurate quotes and work orders
• Create custom quotes, work orders, and invoices using proprietary software
• Manage orders through proprietary software
• Ensure digital files are print-ready before production
• Review files for fonts, links, and colors
• Check for bleeds and crops and verify print-ready PDFs
• Review job specifications, troubleshoot file issues, and suggest solutions to customers
• Collaborate with the production team to support accurate, on-time delivery
• Coordinate project details from concept through delivery
• Assist with design and typesetting as needed for items including business cards, flyers, brochures, banners, signs, apparel graphics, and more
• Perform graphic design and prepress tasks required to meet high quality standards and deadlines
• Maintain organized digital and physical files and records (including invoices)
• Support light production work, including bindery, finishing, or shipping tasks as needed
• Follow up on quotes and support customer satisfaction through delivery

Requirements

• 1+ years of graphic design experience, ideally in a print shop, sign shop, or marketing environment
• Prior experience in a fast-paced customer service environment (retail, service, or print preferred)
• Excellent verbal and written communication with a friendly, professional demeanor
• Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven setting
• Attention to detail and solid basic math skills
• Hands-on preparation for commercial digital or offset printing (bleeds, color modes, imposition, prepress)
• Familiarity with print production processes, paper stocks, finishing options, and promotional products
• Experience with Microsoft Office and basic data entry
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) is a plus
• Ability to learn proprietary software and company processes quickly
• Professional appearance, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset
• Prior work in a print or marketing franchise or similar high-volume environment
• Office organization, shop cleanliness, and paper filing skills
