Job summary

U-Haul is hiring for a customer-focused role at our Dallas center. You will assist customers, operate U-Scan, move and hook up trucks, inspect equipment, and educate customers on our products and services. The position involves handling invoices, propane tasks, and forklift operation as part of daily duties.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma, and safety-conscious work around moving parts and chemicals. Training and certifications are provided upon employment.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services


• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory


• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers


• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels


• Answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services


• Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental


• Install hitches and trailer wiring


• Fill propane


• Drive a forklift


• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University


• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record


• High school diploma or equivalent


• Ability to work around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals with required safety precautions


• Ability to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields when required


• Ability to remain stationary for long periods and move around indoors and outdoors


• Ability to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights


• Ability to move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs., assisted or unassisted


• Propane filling certification offered through U-Haul upon employment


• Forklift certification offered through U-Haul upon employment


• Must comply with applicable U-Haul nicotine-product hiring restrictions
