• Provide exceptional service to meet customers' and prospective customers' banking needs
• Support existing customer relationships and maintain class-leading customer service relations
• Provide account guidance, suggestions, and necessary information
• Provide customers with account information and updates; answer policy questions accurately
• Open accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate records and enter accounts into the bank's computer system
• Maintain thorough knowledge of banking products and services
• Actively sell products and services using United's needs-based approach
• Resolve customer complaints with tact and professionalism
• Open and maintain deposit accounts, including Individual Retirement Accounts and Certificates of Deposit
• Order job-related supplies as needed
• Answer customer inquiries
• Assist staff in serving customers, answering telephones, and performing other duties as necessary
• Complete disputes and research on debit cards; order and hot-card debit cards
• Perform file maintenance
• Participate in required training, meetings, seminars, and conferences
• Provide back-up support to various retail banking roles

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of in-house training program
• Interpersonal skills necessary to relate to and empathize with others
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good selling skills
• Experience in sales preferred
• Ability to maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor throughout the workday
• Ability to operate bank software programs
• Operation of standard office equipment
• Proficient keyboarding skills
• Thorough knowledge of financial institution products and services
• Ability to provide back-up to various retail banking roles
• Participation in required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training
• Must be able to pass a criminal background and credit check
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
