Job summary

U-Haul seeks a friendly Customer Service Representative in Washington, DC to be the face of our service and assist customers with rentals and product information. You will inspect and maintain equipment, use U-Scan tech to manage inventory, and help customers throughout their journey, including preparing invoices and processing returns.

The role includes hands-on training, opportunities for advancement, and eligibility for benefits such as health plans, paid holidays, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Comfort with using mobile tech for rentals and inquiries.
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, check fluid levels.
• Answer questions and educate customers about products and services.
• Prepare rental invoices and process returns.
• Install hitches and trailer wiring.
• Propane filling (certification offered upon employment).
• Drive a forklift (certification offered upon employment).
• Other duties as assigned; participate in ongoing U-Haul education via U-Haul University.
