Halperns’ Steak & Seafood in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Customer Service Rep to provide friendly and efficient support via phone, email, and web orders. You will strengthen customer relationships through product knowledge, accurate order processing, and delivery coordination.

• Support and partner within assigned division and customer assignment.
• Manage customer orders manually and complete timely callbacks/e-mails to discuss edits and confirm complete orders.
• Maintain knowledge of product and system status within divisions to assist Outside Sales Representatives and customers.
• Provide information on inventory and product details to customers and reps.
• Coordinate exception deliveries with Transportation and 3rd party systems.
• Assist Outside Sales with order entry.

Position Summary

Provides friendly and efficient customer service, order processing and delivery support to customers of Halperns’ Steak & Seafood via phone, email and internet. Strengthens customer relationships through strong product knowledge and product application, delivery coordination, and error resolution.

Essential Functions

• Serve as liaison between the Outside Sales Representative and customer.
• Develop and Maintain customer relationships.
• Supports and partners within assigned division and customer assignment.
• Manages customer orders manually and completes timely callbacks/e-mails to discuss edits and confirm complete orders.
• Maintain current knowledge of product and system status within divisions to assist Outside Sales Representatives and customers.
• Serves as information resource to Outside Sales Representatives, on product related questions regarding inventory levels and general product information
• Arrange exception deliveries in collaboration with Transportation departments, 3rd party order/delivery systems, aligned with Halperns’.
• Support Outside Sales Representatives with order entry.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Must have excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills.
• Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment.
• Highly motivated self starter with a focus on details and accuracy in a fast paced environment
• Must be a strategic thinker, inquisitive, innovative, and creative in order to build relationships, network, link resources and apply business practices
• Must have good customer service and time management skills.
• Ability to problem solve and develop solutions on a variety of complex business issues with the ability to balance customer needs within the framework of Gordon Food Service business practices
• Ability to demonstrate understanding of Foodservice industry and operations for Non Commercial Segment
• Ability to adapt to frequent technological and GFS proprietary application changes and program functions (used Chains)
• Understand USDA dietary regulations and commodities
• Ability to perform 10-key data entry
