Job summary

Halperns' Steak & Seafood in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Customer Service Representative to provide friendly, efficient service, process orders, and support delivery coordination via phone, email and web. The role emphasizes building strong customer relationships, product knowledge and accurate order entry.

You will liaise with Outside Sales, maintain product/system knowledge, and assist with exception deliveries while reflecting the company’s family culture and high standards of customer

• Serve as liaison between the Outside Sales Representative and customer.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships.
• Support and partner within assigned division and customer assignments.
• Manages customer orders manually and completes timely callbacks/emails to discuss edits and confirm complete orders.
• Maintain current knowledge of product and system status to assist Outside Sales Representatives and customers.
• Arrange exception deliveries in collaboration with Transportation and 3rd party order/delivery systems.

Position Summary:

Provides friendly and efficient customer service, order processing and delivery support to customers of Halperns’ Steak & Seafood via phone, email and internet. Strengthens customer relationships through strong product knowledge and product application, delivery coordination, and error resolution.

Essential Functions:

• Serve as liaison between the Outside Sales Representative and customer.
• Develop and Maintain customer relationships.
• Supports and partners within assigned division and customer assignment.
• Manages customer orders manually and completes timely callbacks/e-mails to discuss edits and confirm complete orders.
• Maintain current knowledge of product and system status within divisions to assist Outside Sales Representatives and customers.
• Serves as information resource to Outside Sales Representatives, on product related questions regarding inventory levels and general product information.
• Arrange exception deliveries in collaboration with Transportation departments, 3rd party order/delivery systems, aligned with Halperns’.
• Support Outside Sales Representatives with order entry.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Must have excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills.
• Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment.
• Highly motivated self starter with a focus on details and accuracy in a fast paced environment.
• Must be a strategic thinker, inquisitive, innovative, and creative in order to build relationships, network, link resources and apply business practices.
• Must have good customer service and time management skills.
• Ability to problem solve and develop solutions on a variety of complex business issues with the ability to balance customer needs within the framework of Gordon Food Service business practices.
• Ability to demonstrate understanding of Foodservice industry and operations for Non Commercial Segment.
• Ability to adapt to frequent technological and GFS proprietary application changes and program functions (used Chains).
• Understand USDA dietary regulations and commodities.
• Ability to perform 10-key data entry.
