Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Courtesy Clerk to assist customers from the register to their car, while keeping the store clean, stocked, and welcoming for everyone who walks through the door.

You will package purchases, help transport to vehicles, stock shelves, and maintain a clean, organized shopping environment. The role emphasizes friendly service and teamwork in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• No education or experience required; training provided.
• Ability to stand and walk frequently during shifts.
• Ability to follow written or verbal directions and communicate supply needs.
• Work effectively as part of a team to keep the store clean and customers happy.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and going out of your way to make every visit a great one
• Package customer purchases and assist customers in transporting them to their mode of transportation
• Bring carts in from the parking lot and cart corrals throughout your shift
• Clean registers, restrooms, the break room, and the backroom, and sweep and mop floors as needed
• Stock, face, and rotate merchandise, clean shelves, understand shelf tags, and know the location of merchandise in the store and backroom
• Deliver product to customers and assist in all departments as requested within wage and hour guidelines
• Shovel, salt, and sand walkways as needed
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy‑Vee policies and store guidelines
• Report to work when scheduled and on time
