Erewhon Market in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Grocery Assistant Store Manager to lead daily store operations and uphold our commitment to quality and service.

You will forecast and plan merchandising, hire and train teammates, manage inventory, and implement promotions while ensuring health, safety, and brand standards. This full-time role offers strong growth, competitive hourly pay, and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a grocery assistant store manager or equivalent management role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with solid project-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for confident communication with customers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Director and Store Assistant Director in store oversight.
• Forecast and reforecast business to meet sales goals.
• Drive foot traffic through community events.
• Assist in hiring and timely filling of open positions.
• Ensure store and appearance standards are met.
• Plan and execute merchandise calendars, campaigns and promotions.
• Manage pricing, signage and displays.
• Control inventory levels and reordering within budget.
• Enforce health, safety and security policies.
• Oversee shrink control.

What You Will Do:

• Assists Store Director and Store Assistant Director in responsibility of the store.
• Forecasts/reforecast business, focusing on productivity to meet sales goals.
• Identifies opportunities to drive traffic into the store through community events (weddings, parties, etc.).
• Helps Store Manager in identifying training needs and providing ongoing training opportunities to the team as needed.
• Assists in hiring to the needs of the business, actively recruiting to ensure open positions are filled quickly.
• Ensures company standards are met for store and associate appearance at all times.
• Plans, coordinates, and executes all Merchandise Calendar direction, campaigns, and sales promotions in a timely manner.
• Ensures all pricing, signage, and displays are correct at all times.
• Responsible for controlling inventory stock levels and reordering as necessary within budget.
• Enforces all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and security.
• Manages and controls shrink.
• Other duties as directed by upper management.
