Job Description Summary

Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process.

Main Responsibilities

1. Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
2. Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responding to alarms or signals.
3. Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
4. Maintain awareness of donor reactions and notify staff if needed.
5. Record incidents using PDA, including alarms, volume variances, and adverse events.
6. Link equipment and supplies to the donor in the system.
7. Alert supervisors of donor flow issues.
8. Ensure accurate recording of donor data per SOPs.
9. Understand policies related to hyperimmune programs, if applicable.
10. Maintain a clean work environment and ensure supplies are available.
11. Follow all safety and confidentiality policies.
12. May be cross-trained and required to work in other areas.
13. Bilingual skills may be required.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 months of work experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Basic math skills.

Working Conditions

• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Visual and verbal communication skills.
• Stand, walk, reach, bend, and kneel as needed.
• Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
