The Opportunity

Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis processors. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains awareness of donor reactions during or after the process and notifies staff if needed.
• Records incidents using Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), including machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, and adverse events.
• Links equipment and supplies used in the process to the donor via PDA.
• Alerts supervisors of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic management system, following SOPs.
• Understands policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
• Maintains a clean, efficient work environment and ensures supplies are available.
• Follows all health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting safety.
• Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Experience

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of three months' work experience, preferably in a medical or health environment, or equivalent education and experience. Basic math skills required.

Working Conditions

• Ability to understand, remember, and follow instructions.
• Ability to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
• Stand and walk up to 100% of the time.
• Reach, bend, kneel, and manual dexterity required.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• Exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens.
• Wearing PPE as required.
• Overtime and extended hours may be necessary.
