The Opportunity

Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis processors. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains awareness of donor reactions during or after the process and notifies staff as needed.
• Records incidents during pheresis using Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), including alerts, alarms, and adverse events.
• Links equipment and soft goods to the donor via PDA.
• Alerts supervisors of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system following SOPs.
• Understands policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
• Maintains a clean work environment and ensures supplies are available.
• Follows all HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety.
• Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas and may require bilingual skills.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 months' work experience, preferably in a medical or health environment or equivalent.
• Basic math skills required.

Working Conditions

• Ability to follow instructions and observe equipment operation.
• Occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, manual dexterity required.
• Lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Fast-paced environment with exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens.
• Wearing PPE required in certain areas.
• Overtime and extended hours may be necessary.
