Job summary

ShopRite in South Brunswick, NJ is seeking a Customer Service/Courtesy Counter Clerk at the Saker NJ location to deliver friendly, efficient service and assist customers at the courtesy desk.

Responsibilities include scanning, pricing, bagging, handling payments, answering inquiries, maintaining a clean work area, and adhering to Safety and QA standards while supporting store policies and Wakefern programs.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English fluently.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for shift duration.
• Ability to regularly lift 25 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Ability to handle products and allergens safely.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly way.
• Ability to work cooperatively and follow schedules.
• Adherence to safety and store policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Enter customer information for Wakefern program eligibility.
• Understand cash register operation and cash handling procedures.
• Know the store's products and location of items.
• Handle returns accurately and update rain checks as needed.
• Answer phone promptly and professionally; issue refunds as needed.
• Dress and groom according to company policy; observe safety rules.
