Job summary

Haag Oil Company, LLC in Topeka, KS is seeking an entry-level Customer Service Clerk to join the team. You will operate cash registers, handle cash and card transactions, stock shelves, and provide friendly, accurate service to every customer.

You must follow all safety and store policies, assist with reports, and support daily store operations while upholding cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous customer service experience helpful; we will train.
• Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math and handle cash accurately.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management.
• Ability to stand, walk, stock, and perform routine cleaning duties.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to every customer.
• Respond to and report customer complaints tactfully and promptly.
• Follow all company safety and security policies.
• Identify and eliminate safety hazards; report unsafe acts or conditions to management.
• Prepare required accident/incident reports and immediately notify Human Resources.
• Report to work on time and adjust to scheduling needs as required.
• Operate cash registers and point‑of‑sale equipment efficiently.
• Handle cash, safe drops, credit card transactions, and check‑cashing procedures in accordance with company policies.
• Prepare shift reports and other reports required by management.
• Follow all company policies and applicable laws governing beverage and tobacco sales.
• Clean shelves, dispensers, restrooms, store interior, and other designated areas.
• Stock, rotate, price, and count merchandise; assist with inventory counts.
• Follow loss‑prevention policies to prevent loss of cash and merchandise, including drive‑offs.
• Build and remove merchandise displays.
• Assist management in maintaining buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Area Manager.
