Job summary

Kroger in the United States is seeking a friendly cashier and customer service associate to assist customers and process sales while upholding the company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

You will perform cashier functions, handle transactions, answer phones, maintain the checkstand area, support store accounting, and help with refunds, money orders, gift cards, and special licenses where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Six months cashier experience
• Must be at least 18 years old (19 in some states)
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work weekends and various shifts

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and assist customers at the front end
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, process tender transactions, bag merchandise
• Maintain checkout area and respond to price discrepancies
• Answer telephones and handle customer inquiries
• Process refunds, exchanges, money orders, and bill payments at the Customer Service Desk
• Provide lottery services and other licensed transactions where applicable
• Open/close the Customer Service Desk and prepare bank deposits
• Run vendor reports and support store accounting functions
• Maintain overall store cleanliness and comply with corporate policies
