Job summary

Kroger is seeking a friendly Courtesy Clerk to create an outstanding customer experience at our Lansing store. You will greet customers, assist with questions, and help keep the area clean and well-organized.

You will process transactions at the checkout, understand the POS system, and handle cash, SNAP, EBT, WIC, and coupons per policy. Flexibility and teamwork are essential for a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle various tenders according to policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and work to control loss.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Provide friendly service and answer product questions.
