Job summary

Kroger in Happy Valley, OR is seeking an on-site Customer Service Associate. You will assist customers, process sales at the register, and support desk operations with refunds, exchanges, and money orders.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean checkstand, handling phones, and staying compliant with store policies. This role requires reliability and the ability to work weekends in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED accepted, or combination of education and experience.
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
• Must be 18 years of age (19 in some states) if selling tobacco.
• Ability to pass drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends regularly, shifts, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects.
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
• Related retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and process sales.
• Deliver and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions including opening/closing register and tender transactions.
• Maintain checkout area and assist with price discrepancy logs.
• Answer telephones and process refunds, exchanges, money orders and other desk duties.
• Provide lottery service and other customer service desk responsibilities.
• Maintain store accounting functions and cash deposits.
• Adhere to corporate policies and store initiatives.
• Respond to surveillance alerts and ensure product tagging and removal when needed.
