Job Summary

We are seeking a Customer Service Banking professional for a contract/temporary opportunity in San Jose, CA. This role supports specialty banking operations with a focus on HOA deposit accounts, new account onboarding, account maintenance, compliance documentation, and client service.

The Customer Service Banking representative will work in a professional financial services environment that values accuracy, teamwork, strong client relationships, and a high-quality customer experience. This is a strong opportunity for someone with banking, new accounts, or customer support experience who enjoys helping clients, working with financial documentation, and contributing to a collaborative team.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented banking professional who is comfortable following established policies, supporting account administration, and building positive relationships with commercial clients and internal partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Open new accounts and maintain existing accounts in accordance with banking policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Consult with customers and prospects to identify banking products and services that support their financial needs.
• Review and interpret HOA-related agreements to support account administration, contract requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure proper account documentation, CIP information, ChexSystems review, and OFAC procedures are completed accurately.
• Support sales, service, and relationship management efforts to help retain existing business and grow new relationships.
• Participate in team meetings, product training, and service initiatives to strengthen banking knowledge and client support.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $22.00 to $23.00 per hour.
• Job type: Contract/Temporary.
• Location: San Jose, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Open and maintain deposit accounts for HOA and specialty banking clients.
• Support new account onboarding, documentation review, and account compliance processes.
• Provide customer service and relationship support to existing and prospective banking clients.
• Use banking systems and compliance tools to complete account setup and maintenance accurately.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Banking, new accounts, customer service, or financial institution experience required.
• Knowledge of account opening procedures, customer identification requirements, and banking documentation standards.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, correspondence, agreements, and account documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers, clients, and internal team members.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, ratios, and standard financial figures.
• Ability to follow established policies and procedures while maintaining excellent service standards.
• Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and delivering a positive customer experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience opening new accounts within a financial institution.
• Familiarity with HOA banking, specialty banking, commercial banking, or deposit operations.
• Working knowledge of ChexSystems, OFAC, CIP, and trust account compliance processes.
• Understanding of regulations or requirements related to DRE, DFPI, DOI, or similar financial compliance standards.
