Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey and Phi in Lumberton, NJ is seeking a part-time Store Associate to handle register transactions, assist customers, stock merchandise, keep the sales floor clean, and promote Round-Up donations. Responsibilities

  • Process register transactions accurately and promote Round-Up donations.
  • Greet customers, maintain a clean, neat, and organized store, and assist with merchandising.
  • Stock and price merchandise; assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with customers using phone etiquette; answer within 3 rings.
  • Cross-train as Donation-Utility Associate and Barcoder to support growth and productivity.

Job Location: Lumberton Store - Lumberton, NJ 08048

Salary Range: $16.00 - $16.00 Hourly

Travel Percentage: None

Specific Duties
  • Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures. Must possess professional etiquette.
  • Successfully process register transactions, handle money, count down a drawer, and ask every customer for a Round-Up donation. Must achieve 40% Round-Up transaction average every month.
  • Engage customers successfully using the following steps: a. Greet every customer 5 feet from you b. Focus on your customer c. Maintain a clean, neat, and organized store d. Walk, Talk, and Show e. Thank your customer for supporting our free job training and education initiatives f. Listen and respond appropriately to all customer concerns g. Engage customers at the register h. Effectively manage your register line i. Use good phone etiquette and answer within 3 rings j. Provide short, clear, timely announcements.
  • Will receive cross‑training as Donation‑Utility Associate and Barcoder to promote individual employee growth and maintain company productivity.
  • Train to complete opening and closing procedures as necessary.
  • Must stock and maintain sales floor with newly processed merchandise.
  • Maintain a clean, organized sales floor by recovering standards through sizing of merchandise and organization of wares and furniture.
  • Maintain sales floor by recovering sales floor and dressing rooms.
  • Establish or identify prices of goods via the type of merchandise, identifying markings, or asking for help from an on‑site manager or supervisor.
  • Ability to utilize systems, including phones and paging systems and make regularly scheduled announcements.
  • Maintain interior and exterior of store in a neat, clean, and orderly manner (includes vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors, washing windows, etc.).
  • Must maintain a clean and neat personal appearance at all times. Must wear company issued uniform.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • All other essential duties as assigned.
