Job summary

Mr. Electric of the Twin Cities West Metro in Plymouth, MN seeks a Customer Service & Operations Specialist to be a key part of the team. You’ll be the friendly voice, keep engineers organized, and help turn opportunities into completed jobs.

You'll manage scheduling, permits, and follow-ups, with opportunities for training, growth, and a collaborative work environment. This full-time role offers a daytime schedule and a competitive hourly rate with bonuses.

Location: Plymouth / Western Minneapolis Suburbs, MN

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $18–$27 per hour, depending on experience, plus performance bonus opportunities

Schedule: Monday–Friday, daytime business hours

Work Location: Hybrid – must live within drivable distance to Plymouth, MN

Mr. Electric of the Twin Cities West Metro is a fast growing, locally owned, veteran- and woman-owned residential electrical service company. We're looking for an exceptional Customer Service & Operations Specialist to become a key member of our team.

What You'll Be Doing

Make Every Customer Feel Welcome

• Answer incoming customer calls with genuine enthusiasm, warmth, and professionalism.
• Make customers feel appreciated for choosing Mr. Electric.
• Listen to customers' needs, answer questions, and confidently schedule service appointments.
• Create a positive first impression that builds trust and confidence.
• Help customers feel comfortable and informed throughout their service experience.

Turn Conversations Into Booked Jobs

• Convert incoming customer inquiries into scheduled appointments.
• Follow up with customers who received estimates but haven't yet approved their electrical work.
• Build relationships, address concerns, and help customers feel confident moving forward.
• Confidently ask customers for their business without being pushy.
• Track follow-up activities and results using our customer management software.

Keep Our Electricians Moving

• Manage daily scheduling and dispatching of our electricians.
• Coordinate appointments to maximize efficiency and minimize unnecessary travel.
• Communicate scheduling updates with customers and field team members.
• Coordinate return visits, approved projects, and follow-up work.
• Help ensure our electricians have the information needed to serve customers successfully.

Manage Permits & Job Coordination

• Prepare and submit electrical permit applications to local municipalities.
• Track permits and coordinate required inspections.
• Communicate with customers, electricians to keep projects moving.
• Follow up on outstanding permits, inspections, and job requirements.
• Maintain accurate job records and ensure important details don't fall through the cracks.

Help Us Deliver an Exceptional Experience

• Keep customers informed throughout their projects.
• Coordinate job details and resolve administrative scheduling issues.
• Maintain accurate information in ServiceTitan.
• Work closely with ownership and our electrical team to continuously improve operations.

Experience We're Looking For

Required:

• At least 2 years of experience in customer service, inside sales, scheduling, dispatching, or office operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Confidence communicating with customers by phone, text, and email.
• Proficiency with common business software and computer systems.

Even Better If You Have:

• Experience in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or another home service industry.
• Experience with ServiceTitan or similar scheduling software.
• Experience dispatching service technicians.
• Experience following up on estimates or converting sales opportunities.
• Familiarity with municipal permits and inspections.

You do not need to know the electrical industry to succeed here. We're willing to train the right person who brings exceptional customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn.
