Job summary

The Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin, IL is seeking a friendly, people-oriented individual for a part-time Customer Relations role in the Main Library. You will handle circulation tasks, assist patrons, and promote library programs with a welcoming, proactive approach.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent and prior customer service experience, plus familiarity with Microsoft Office. Hours amount to 25 per week with prorated benefits.

Are you a positive and friendly individual who enjoys engaging with all types of people? Our Customer Relations Department may be the place for you! Our Main Library has a part-time opening for someone who has excellent communication & customer service skills.

Primary job duties include:

• Performs circulation services for library materials, which include check-in, check-out, and renewing items, placing holds, registering new library cards, or updating and registering customers for library programs, services, or classes.


• Providing information to customers, answering questions, and being proactive by offering assistance in a friendly and professional manner.

Qualifications:
