Job summary

Schaeffler is seeking a results-driven engineer to monitor customer performance, drive corrective actions, and collaborate on new process approvals. You will perform FAI/PPAP tasks, manage audit schedules, and support Lean improvements across manufacturing and supplier networks.

The role requires a technical degree, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with travel to support customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a technical discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of AIAG tools and industry standards including PPAP, APQP, QSA, MSA, SPC, and FMEA.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report customer performance with timely corrective actions.

  • Support audits, standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and improve supplier and customer KPIs.
  • Lead root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of nonconformances.
  • Resolve customer technical issues to maintain supply continuity.
  • Support long-term customer relationships and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Travel as needed to support customers and responsibilities.
  • Support achievement of local and global KPIs and promote Lean principles.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report customer performance, ensuring timely corrective actions are implemented.
  • Collaborate with customers on new process approvals and process changes.
  • Perform FAI/PPAP activities and customer-delegated DQR responsibilities.
  • Maintain customer visit and audit schedules.
  • Support audits, process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Monitor and improve supplier and customer KPIs.
  • Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of nonconformances.
  • Resolve customer technical issues promptly to maintain supply continuity.
  • Support long-term customer relationships and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Travel as needed to support customers and job responsibilities.
  • Support achievement of local and global KPIs.
  • Communicate effectively and promote company policies, procedures, and mission.
  • Comply with export control, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Promote Lean principles and continuous improvement within the team.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a technical discipline, or an equivalent qualification with demonstrated competency
  • Strong ability to prioritize effectively, work independently, and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Results-oriented with a strong customer service mindset
  • Knowledge of AIAG tools and related industry standards, including PPAP, APQP, QSA, MSA, SPC, and FMEA
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.
  • 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in a manufacturing or similar environment
  • Proven success working in both functional and cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Knowledge of AS9100 is considered an asset
