Job summary

Jobtailor in Danbury, CT seeks a Quality/Manufacturing Engineer to monitor customer performance, lead APQP/PPAP activities, and drive continuous improvement. You will collaborate with customers on process changes, manage audits, and ensure on-time corrective actions to sustain supply continuity.

Required: engineering degree, strong analytical skills, and ability to multi-task. Travel to support customers and programs is expected; export control compliance is mandatory.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report customer performance with timely corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with customers on new process approvals and changes.
  • Perform FAI/PPAP activities and DQR responsibilities for customers.
  • Maintain customer visit and audit schedules.
  • Support audits, process standardization, waste elimination, and CI efforts.
  • Monitor and improve supplier and customer KPIs.
  • Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis to prevent nonconformances.
  • Resolve customer technical issues promptly to maintain supply continuity.
  • Support long-term customer relationships and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Travel as needed to support customers and responsibilities.
  • Support achievement of local and global KPIs.
  • Communicate company policies, procedures, and mission effectively.
  • Comply with export control, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Promote Lean principles within the team.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a technical discipline, or an equivalent qualification with demonstrated competency.
  • Strong ability to prioritize effectively, work independently, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Results‑oriented with a strong customer service mindset.
  • Knowledge of AIAG tools and related industry standards, including PPAP, APQP, QSA, MSA, SPC, and FMEA.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship.
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
