Customer Operations Supervisor - Order-to-Cash & Logistics
We are looking for a hands-on Customer Operations Supervisor with experience in order-to-cash, logistics/transportation, billing, and customer account management.
This is not a traditional call center supervisor position. We are looking for someone who understands the full customer order process from order entry and delivery through invoicing, billing issue resolution, and payment.
This is a player-coach role. You will personally manage customer accounts while also supervising and mentoring a small customer service team.
What You'll Do
- Manage customer accounts from order entry through delivery, invoicing, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with dispatch, logistics, field operations, supply chain, Finance, and Sales/Commercial teams.
- Review completed deliveries, tickets, and supporting documentation before invoicing.
- Generate and submit customer invoices.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, invoice disputes, order issues, and service problems.
- Follow up on outstanding billing issues and partner with AR/Credit & Collections when needed.
- Communicate directly with customers regarding orders, deliveries, delays, billing questions, and service issues.
- Work with high-volume billing and operational data to identify discrepancies.
- Supervise and mentor a small customer service team while continuing to personally manage accounts.
- Monitor workloads, performance, accuracy, and customer service levels.
- Help improve processes surrounding billing accuracy, customer service, and operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience with direct reports.
- Experience in order management, customer operations, logistics, transportation, supply chain, or a similar high-volume environment.
- Hands-on experience with the order-to-cash process.
- Experience with billing/invoicing, account reconciliation, disputes, or AR/collections support.
- Strong customer-facing experience managing accounts and resolving escalated issues.
- Experience working with dispatch, transportation, logistics, or field operations strongly preferred.
- ERP, TMS, or electronic invoicing system experience; JD Edwards, Ariba, or OpenInvoice is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume operation where priorities can change quickly.
- Ability to provide occasional after-hours/weekend support when needed.
