Job summary

U-Haul in New York is seeking friendly, energetic warehouse workers to interact with customers and ensure quality service. Primary duties include operating forklifts, loading/unloading containers, and supporting on-time deliveries.

You will assist customers, manage dispatch and rental systems, and participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record are required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Ability to comply with local, state, and federal vehicular regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate an 8,000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers onto and off truck beds for delivery to and from a storage facility.
• Ensure timely delivery.
• Provide customer assistance, including the sale of support items and use of online dispatch and rental systems.
• Perform customer-ready inspections of U-Box containers prior to dispatch and upon return.
• Prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pickup of goods.
• Ensure that the warehouse storage facility is clean, dry and secure.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
