Job summary

Southern Bancorp is seeking a friendly Customer Service Representative to provide prompt service, handle cash transactions, and support customers with banking needs in our branch. The role requires accurate cash handling, attention to security, and the ability to cross-sell bank products while maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct on a daily basis.

Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of customer service experience, preferably in banking, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years of customer service and cash handling experience.
• Experience in a bank or financial institution preferred.
• Strong customer contact and professional communication.
• Confidential handling of bank records and customer transactions.
• Detail-oriented with good mathematical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Responds to customer inquiries as appropriate.
• Maintains cash drawers and ensures cash security.
• Accepts checks, deposits, and issues receipts.
• Receives savings deposits, pays withdrawals, and redeems U.S. Savings Bonds.
• Processes night deposits and mail-in deposits.
• Cross-sells bank and affiliate services.
• Completes required training and performs other related duties.
• Performs the duties of CSR on a scheduled Saturday rotation.
