Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to serve as the point of contact for customers, assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs, and ensure shelves are stocked and presents are maintained. You will support profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork while protecting company assets.

You will unload deliveries, stock and rotate products, assist customers, operate the cash register, and help with merchandising setup.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Bail cardboard, take out trash; dust and mop floors; clean restrooms and stockrooms.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Greet customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases; bag merchandise.
• Collect payments and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners, as needed.
• Clean front end of store and assist with sidewalk displays when necessary.
