Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill in Lawrence hires a friendly Retail Cashier to join the 31st store team. You will greet customers, handle transactions, stock shelves, and keep the store clean while delivering excellent service.

The role offers part of a mission-driven workplace with medical and retirement benefits, a monthly bonus up to $250, and flexible schedules for full-time hours. No degree required; HS Diploma/GED preferred.

Qualifications

• No degree required; HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
• Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population.
• Necessary math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and acknowledge them as they enter the store, assist on the sales floor, and answer the phone professionally.
• Operate the store cash register, handle cash and credit card transactions, apply appropriate discounts, and balance the cash register.
• Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain cleanliness of the store area.
• Request assistance from managers for returns, exchanges, and customer complaints.
• Maintain store cleanliness by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and polishing surfaces.
• Build positive relationships with team members and leadership, collaborating cross-functionally.
• Follow safe work practices and maintain a hazard-free workplace by removing obstructions.
