Qualifications

• Strong communication skills are necessary.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction) are required.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in a visible manner.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and coupons per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss-prevention guidelines.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and stay current with ads.
• Follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Provide a welcoming environment and assist customers with product queries across the store.
