Smith’s Food & Drug Centers is hiring for a cashier/checker position to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean store environment. You will greet customers, assist with inquiries, and process transactions using the POS system while following company policies on cash handling, discounts, and restricted items.

The role emphasizes accuracy, friendly interaction, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Must have customer service experience.
• Strong communication skills and friendly demeanor.
• Basic math handling for transactions and change.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist and engage customers in the checkout area.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, cards, SNAP/EBT, WIC, and coupons.
• Adhere to store policies on cash handling, shrink, and restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco).
• Stay informed on current ads, pricing, and promotions; support a clean, safe store environment.
