Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring a Cashier/Checker at 2710 W Broadway, Louisville, KY 40211. You will greet customers, process transactions, and operate the POS system with accuracy while adhering to company policy on cash handling and discounts.

Maintain a clean, safe store environment, follow ads and promotions, assist customers with product questions, and comply with food safety regulations. This role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth within the Kroger family.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, card, SNAP/EBT, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Adhere to cash shortage/overage limits and prevent loss.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow coupon policies.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; adhere to food safety rules.
• Support safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
