Job summary

Kroger is hiring for a Cashier/Checker position at 3158 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY. You will greet customers, assist with their questions, and process transactions at the check lane with a focus on accuracy and courtesy.

The role requires basic math and prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred. You will operate the POS system, handle various payment methods, uphold safety and store policies, and contribute to a welcoming shopping environment.

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, cards, and other tenders per policy.
• Adhere to cash-handling limits and prevent loss through honesty and integrity.
• Ensure compliance with age-restricted items guidelines (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and follow coupon/postage policies.
• Stay updated on current and upcoming ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures; identify and report unsafe conditions.
• Provide helpful product information and assist customers across departments.
• Work calmly in high-paced environments, resolve conflicts constructively.
• Attend to customer issues with honesty and seek help when needed.
