Job summary

Rural King is seeking a friendly Cashier to deliver accurate transactions and exceptional customer service. You will greet customers, handle cash, educate on loyalty programs, and help maintain a clean, organized front end.

The role requires strong communication and teamwork, with opportunities to train others and grow within a family-owned retail environment that values People First and Continuous Improvement.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable using computers and POS systems.
• Ability to accurately handle cash and process transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Process cash, credit, debit, and other transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Follow company procedures for cash handling, returns, exchanges, layaways, and price disputes.
• Educate customers about the Rural King Loyalty Program, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan (RKPPP).
• Respond to store calls using professional phone etiquette.
• Coordinate with loaders and associates to promptly address customer needs.
• Reconcile registers, complete required paperwork, and maintain accurate records.
• Deactivate EAS devices and spider wraps as needed.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to help prevent loss and reduce shrink.
• Keep checkout areas, shopping carts, restrooms, and customer service areas clean and stocked.
• Participate in cross-training and support other store departments.
• Use POS systems, computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
• Work collaboratively with store associates to provide a consistent customer experience.
• Participate in training and development opportunities and assist with training new Cashiers as needed.
