Job summary

Kroger in Columbia, TN is hiring a Cashier/Checker to create an outstanding customer experience in-store. You will greet customers, assist with questions and process transactions at the checkout with accuracy and efficiency.

You will operate the POS system, handle various tenders, protect cash, follow store policies on restricted items, and stay current with ads while maintaining a safe, clean environment for all shoppers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in-store
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
• Handle tenders and follow POS procedures per policy
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines
• Follow policies on restricted items and flash promotions
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow postage/gift card protocols
• Stay current with ads and promotions and maintain food safety standards
• Maintain safe, clean store environment and assist customers as needed
• Communicate clearly with team and manage conflicts professionally
• Support diverse customers including minors and individuals with special needs
