Job summary

Smith’s Food & Drug Centers is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to deliver exceptional customer service at the checkout. You will greet customers, process transactions, and operate the POS system while following company policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction) needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout area.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, cards, SNAP/EBT, WIC, and coupons per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and communicate with the Scan Coordinator.
