Job summary

First Bankers Trust Company in Quincy, IL seeks an entry-level Universal Banker to be the single point of contact for customers. You will identify needs, build relationships, and fulfill sales, service, and referral opportunities while handling basic transactions.

You will work with retail, operations, and lending staff, promoting bank products and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred but not required.
• Exposure to the banking industry preferred but not required.
• Demonstrates aptitude for mathematical and financial transactions.
• Demonstrates ability to perform day-to-day work under supervision.
• Demonstrates strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Ability to use banking software and MS Office applications; willingness to learn new tools.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and greets customers and vendors professionally.
• Identifies customer needs and offers bank products and services as solutions.
• Handles customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, etc.
• Balances cash drawer and maintains proper cash levels.
• Opens new accounts and handles related product transactions (CDs, IRAs, HSAs).
• Sets up and maintains customer files for online and mobile banking and other services.
• May manage vault in smaller branches and ensures branch cash needs are met.
• Ensures efficient branch operations and compliance with policies.
• Prepares reports and participates in audits as needed.
• Occasionally travels to other branches to support retail needs and attends meetings.
