Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome by answering questions about products and store services.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them about specials.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and report items in need of repair.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
